Hello and Welcome
I think the purpose of these pages is to present a sort of photographic record of the world that surrounds me.
I live in a wonderful and beautiful part of Australia known as The Mullion on a property called Waratah. A small area that is positioned roughly midway between Canberra, Yass and Wee Jasper at the northern part of the Brindabella Range. The beauty that surrounds me is what has brought me back to my long lost hobby of photography.
You see I have always been keen on photography and have owned some pretty good camera gear over time but unfortunately until now I have not been able to apply myself sufficiently to the task of developing any photographic abilities that may lay dormant deep down within. Now of course there is also Photoshop which is a fantastic program for tweaking, manipulating or creating images. Purests may shun such an idea and I can appreciate their perspective as I was once the same about film cameras. Photography does mean painting with light and there is no dictate as to how the ‘paint’ should be applied and furthermore, photographers have been manipulating imagery in the darkroom for almost 200 years; technology has just developed over time. I hope that I can improve my photographic and Photoshop abilities, posting any images that I think are not all that bad. Until then you will just have to put up with my appalling attempts at the art.
