Superb Fairy-wren (Malurus cyaneus)

A female Superb Fairy-wren.

What an amazingly courageous bird this little guy is. As I was endeavouring to marshal a large Brown snake away from the house, the snake passed by very closely to the bush that this little bird’s nest is in. What a display; more courage than most politicians, both past and present, have ever been able to muster. It didn’t take long for the snake to realise that he would be far safer out in the open then staying close by to this Fairy-wren’s nest.
